YEA! Title Sponsor receives the 2012 Arts & Business Committee Leadership Award
The Autobarn Ltd. of Evanston has been named the recipient of the 2012 Arts & Business Committee Leadership Award. The award is given annually to an Evanston business that has been exceptionally supportive of the arts in Evanston, either financially or through in-kind services. The award will be presented at the Evanston Chamber of Commerce/State of the City luncheon on Friday, March 8, 2013.
The Arts & Business Committee, a subcommittee of the Evanston Arts Council, selected The Autobarn Ltd. of Evanston for the award because of its remarkable dedication to the Young Evanston Artists (YEA!) annual event.
Autobarn is a wonderful example of how a local business can actively participate in an arts event and make a significant difference,” explains Penny Rotheiser, co-chair of the Arts & Business Committee.
In addition to its sizable financial support of YEA! as its title sponsor, The Autobarn Ltd. has offered support in many unique ways, including providing a car for children to paint; creating an auto-related art project that resulted in a gallery reception of the children’s art; getting personally involved with the planning process; and providing meeting space and staff to help with the logistics of YEA! Day.
Autobarn of Evanston has been deeply committed to YEA! for several years with hands-on involvement at every level. We are deeply grateful for their generosity and the depth of their commitment,” says Harvey Pranian, founder and project director of YEA!
Richard Fisher, owner and president of The Autobarn Ltd. of Evanston, said, “We are so pleased to be conferred this honor and we hope to be even more active with the arts community in Evanston in the future.”
